“Effect of mode of delivery: normal, induced and caesarean section on neonatal serum bilirubin”
نویسندگان
چکیده
Aim: To compare neonatal serum bilirubin and certain haematological factors in Normal, induced and Caesarean section. Materials and Methods: 90 neonates were divided into three groups according to the mode of delivery (normal, oxytocin induced vaginal delivery & caesarean) and neonatal serum bilirubin levels were estimated and compared with each group. Result: Out of the 90 subjects, it was found that there is statistically significant increase of neonatal serum bilirubin in oxytocin induced vaginal delivery and caesarean section on day 3. In contrast, on day 1 and day 5, statistically significant neonatal hperbilirubinemia is noticed only in oxytocin induced vaginal delivery. Conclusion: It is concluded from the present study that neonatal serum bilirubin rises from day 1 to day 3 and then start decreasing on day 5. On day 3, neonatal serum bilirubin is statistically significant increase in neonates delivered by oxytocin induced or Caesarean sections.

Comparison of bilirubin level in term infants born by vaginal delivery and C/S
Background: Given the overriding importance of neonatal jaundice and scarcity of studies on the role of route of delivery on its occurrence, this study aimed to investigate the association between neonatal bilirubin level and the route of delivery (i.e., normal vaginal delivery [NVD] and cesarean section [CS]). Methods: This prospective, cross-sectional study was conducted in 2012 in Imam Reza ...
متن کاملComparative Study of Frequency and Severity of Neonatal Jaundice without a Known Etiology in Two Groups of Term Neonate Born Via Cesarean Section and Vaginal Delivery
Introduction: Neonatal jaundice has a significant prevalence, and in severe cases, causes permanent neurological Sequela. Many studies have carried out on neonatal jaundice and its predisposing and exacerbating factors. On the other hand, delivery method (cesarean vs vaginal) has been suggested as a predisposing factor for many of neonatal complications in many studies. The aim of this study i...

Aim: To determine the association between the mode of delivery and selected neonatal and maternal morbidities and outcomes in NSW, during 1998-2008. Methods: This study is a retrospective review of NSW Midwives Data Collection (MDC) of 981,178 deliveries during 1998-2008. Maternal condition and neonatal outcomes were compared for different modes of delivery. Results: The annual rate of caesarea...

Background: The length of maternal hospitalization in uncomplicated delivery has declined and it has become common event around the world. With the expansion of early maternal discharge from hospital in recent years, the identification, follow-up and proper treatment of neonatal problems such as jaundice have been confronted with challenges. Background: Cesarean section delivery can lead to much maternal morbidity. Different cytokines have been reported to be influenced by the mode of delivery. Objective: To investigate the influence of mode of delivery on maternal, placental and cord sera of interferon gamma (IFN-γ), interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) levels. Methods: These three cytokines were measured using ELISA in...
